Comments
Comments: Great morning hike Thanksgiving day with perfect weather. Started about 7am and caught the sun coming up over the Carter Lakes. Just minor ice patches up 19 mile to the hut. Did not need spikes. Once I started up the steep ascent of Carter Moriah to Carter Dome summit I put on the spikes and had them on the rest of the way. Not much snow depth on the ridge. Just spikes were fine. Ascent to Mt. Hight was easy. A bit tricky coming down from Hight but spikes did the job. Was able to take them off about halfway down the Carter Dome trail descent.
