route finding on clinton towards dry river was the only place I lost it. Maybe better when it switches off from the old road to crossing a tributary to head closer to the river. |

Well went out on a wet and rainy day and had my umbrella which I only used on the roadwalk near the end (and yes it is like 4-6 mile road walk sadly uphill). I stopped in at the hut quick to swap over to some warmer and dryer cloths and then headed out. The last time I went out of the hut like this heading to the dry river my friend and I were stopped to make sure we were going the right way. This time no one seemed to care which worked for me. I headed down and almost slipped as it was raining and looks like lots of water goes on the trail. I expected more blowdowns but was happy there were not as many and I can't remember where and how many there actually were. I will say a very lovely trail which I would love to come back and do again. It was a little confusing on the trail crossing to the dry river trail which I crossed and then walked through the woods til I came upon the trail and went back to see were I was suppose to come out at. I saw no one after the hut and I believe only 1 person before that. Nice area for sure. |
