Comments
Comments: Shoulder seasons are tough. Trail conditions ranged from mostly dry to mud over the laces to ice and a few pockets of snow on the way up. Traction was very helpful on the way down. The biggest issue was black ice as the cool air came in while descending. One other note I did not consider - 19 mile trail to WCR is a north east exposure so we had no sun all day. We watched the sun soak the Carter's which may be the next cold season hike!
