Comments
Comments: Dusting of snow and slippery leaves for the first half mile, then the rock spikes went on and stayed on for the rest of the day. A lot of black ice coating the rocks mingled with running water and slick snow. About an inch of snow of packed snow on the the trail from the view spur to the summit and frozen mud pits with a breakable crust on top. A couple times on the descent I wished I had brought my sharp spikes. A guy at the summit had come up the Hi Cannon Trail and he said the ladders were mostly ice-free and not a problem. A lot of people on the trail, but a great day to be in the mountains.
