Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing on Bondcliff Trail were fairly easy though slightly elevated. Rocks not submerged can be coated with black ice so stepping on those submerged under an inch of moving water is usually a safer approach. Little River was running higher than normal. Took a little more thought to attempt to keep feet dry. I crossed at the normal spot where the trail crosses where you can find some slightly submerged rocks to get you partially across, but dunking a foot or two is inevitable. I carry trash bags but since this was the end of my day I just dealt with a wet sock. We stayed on the herd path to avoid the other two crossings on the way out.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Typical random step-overs, leaners, and a few widow makers on BCT in the wilderness area, otherwise trails are all in good shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Encountered 3 happy pups today.

Comments
Comments: Minimal snow from LW to BCT. Most of the mud was semi-frozen. Snow depths increased up to about 4 inches at about 3500ft. I barebooted up to the step then tossed spikes as it had some black ice. Bondcliff summit was mostly snow free. Slight drifting in spots going up to Mt. Bond, then depths gradually increased as we headed north. From WBS and along the Twinway the snow was much deeper, about 8 inches and drifts well over a foot deep heading up to South Twin. There were only two sets of tracks other than ours from Guyot to South Twin. While I did not bring snowshoes today nor check the snowshoe box above though they would of helped in this section. After the next snow fall it would wise to pack the snowshoes.

Great weather today for this hike, clear skies and very low winds. Started as a solo hike but caught up to another solo hiker on Bondcliff who was doing the same trip today so we hung together the rest of the hike. Had a good time and enjoyed some decent trail conversation while walking up and down hills in the woods. Only crossed paths with a few other hikers today, looked like the Twins had some traffic earlier in the day.
