Comments: SRK Greenway Trail 1 - Newbury Trail, side path to Lake Solitude, Lake Solitude trail, Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway, gravel rd, Province TraIl

From the parking area it is a short road walk up to the trail. FYI there is no public restroom in the area, and no restrooms at the convenience store. The Newbury trail is pretty much straight up with steady climbing. Overall the trail conditions were wet, wet, and more wet, lots of mud, water in the trail, a bit of a challenge to keep from sinking ankle deep in spots. But overall a very nice climb. When we reached the Jack and June junction we opted to drop down to Lake Solitude for lunch, which is quite lovely. From there we proceeded to White Ledges for the views, then continued on the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway to the summit of Mount Sunapee. There is a short segment to the summit which is on a gravel service road. From the summit, to the left of the summit building, we dropped down steeply on the MSG which eventually leveled out a bit and we enjoyed a pleasant walk in the woods, interspersed with mud and mini-pools of water in the trail, back to our car spot in Goshen. We have greatly enjoyed exploring the Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway. You can find out more about it at www.srkg.org
