Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Mine and two other happy ones. Used Musher’s on my dog today and it was needed. I missed doing her “elbows” and she had quite a bit of balling there.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Saw a black fingerless bicycle (?) glove on a stick about a mile and a half in.

Comments
Comments: This will be obsolete after the incoming weather tonight and tomorrow which will probably melt most of the snow. That means more mud!!! Today there was about 3” of snow for the first couple of miles with some icy spots. Put spikes on at the widest water crossing due to clear ice on the rocks. The snow was soft for about the first 4 miles with lots of patches of mud and wetness under it that caused major balling on the spikes - better to use bare boots with good tread. The top 8/10ths of a mile or so and across the ridge to the summit had up to 6-8” of loose powdery snow. Snowshoes may have been a good choice for a short steep stretch near the “view” sign but overall it was just boney enough under the loose snow to justify not wearing them. We were the first, and last, car there. Saw just two people all day, each with dogs.
