Comments
Comments: Tripoli Rd is now closed! It was open we we drove in but closed when we left.

Winter conditions have arrived. This was my first hike this season where it felt like full-on winter. Besides being cold and windy, there was 3-5" of snow in most places. (By the end of the day near the trailhead there was only about 1".) One drift near the summit had snow up to my knee. We did not use spikes on the way up but put them on when heading down off Osceola towards East Osceola and kept them on the rest of the hike. (Most people probably would have taken them off after the steep downhill was over.) The chimney bypass had snow but no real ice so wasn't too bad but still required being very careful.
