Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock Hop-able, streams between the Hut and the Shelter had Mucho Foam, it was light, white with some copper color, lots and lots of this foam, Anyone know what it is?
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are so few White Blazes and the signs don't give the AT credit. There were a coupld of step over blowdowns on Fish and Jimmy but look like they've been there a long time. Looking at the stone work done a long time ago someone did try to improve this horrible trail

Comments
Comments: Now I remember why I never go this way. Other than the view back over Lonesome Lake toward the Franconia Ridge there is nothing I like about this route to the Kinsmans. I admired the places where someone long ago someone tried to chisel out steps in the slippery bare ledge. Fish and Jimmy is among the most miserable mess of slippery, wet and terrible footing to be found in the Whites.
We passed by a few small groups on our way up and a couple of fast moving young men went by us just before reaching North Kinsman. We went out and back, a little ice here and there but avoidable. Enjoyed the view from South Kinsman, ate lunch on the South Kinsman north bump since it was out of the wind. Meet a gazillion people on the way back from South Kinsman all the way back, people coming up the trail and others going down after only summiting North Kinsman. From the Hut to car, saw a lot of novice hikers on their way up.
