Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns scattered along this loop. My main reason for today's visit was to check out the latest conditions on Spur Trail. It appears this trail is now only maintained and marked for the first 0.6 mi. to the apple orchard. Beyond this point it is unmarked, very overgrown, and presumably abandoned. The website for dePierrefeu-Willard Pond Wildlife Sanctuary currently lists the trail as "temporarily closed", but there was nothing on the ground prohibiting foot travel. Up to the orchard, the trail was well marked with blue blazes (some new) and flagging.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: As this is an Audubon property, dogs must be leashed at all times.

Comments
Comments: I started out in the sun with this loop but ended up in clouds and light rain showers. All of these trails were wet from the area receiving crusty snow during last night's storm, which was melting fast; the wooded sections were like walking in the rain. Lots of standing water and mud on the trails with heavy leaf cover making things slippery and obscuring trail corridors in places, especially on Tamposi.

The high point (just off trail and not where the "summit" cairn is) now has a small cairn in addition to the handle from the former register.

A few other folks were out braving the sloppy conditions. Two folks I spoke with had an encounter with a couple of deer on Spur Trail.
