 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Muck boots would be helpful on the Guinea Pond Trail. Other crossings were easy rock hops. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Wentworth is well constructed and well maintained. Mead had one large blowdown with walk around not far below the summit and was quite wet in many areas. Guinea Pond Trail appears lost to the beavers. There is an extensive flooded section west of the high water detour. |

Beautiful views from the south ledges and the summit. The herd path heading northeast from the summit led to ledges with great views east, too. Heading down Mead was wet, but I made it to the Guinea Pond junction with dry feet. The high water detour was a good choice as I could see extensive flooding ahead on the regular trail. After rejoining the main trail, I fairly quickly came to a far more extensive flooded area, with several trees clearly recently felled by beavers adding to the problem. Bushwhacked up to the power line and discovered a somewhat apparent herd path generally running on the south (higher) side. Views through the trees suggested the flooded portion of the trail is probably around 0.5 miles long, but I eventually was able to go back down to the trail a little way before it crossed the power line. |
