Comments
Comments: Looks like the leaves have fallen on the low section of North Twin Trail but they are being ground down and shuffled aside. Some minor mud here and there but nothing significant. Spotty trace ice & snow started ~ 3900' and transitioned into full coverage higher up with maybe 1" of snow covering the trail and icy areas. This continued on North Twin Spur. I was able to bare boot up to North Twin's summit but shortly after descending North Twin Spur heading to South Twin I got tired of the tip toe dance trying to avoid the ice so I donned Microspikes for the first time this season - and left them on without regret until about 4000' descending North Twin Trail on my return trip. Others in the col were wearing them and I saw folks heading up to North Twin who had them.

Another stellar day weatherwise: cool but not cold temps, mostly clear skies, abundant sun and near zero wind. Obviously views on South Twin and the other viewpoints were fantastic. I was on South Twin's summit for a half hour and most of that was in solitude. Not many people out there today, maybe 10 total with two coming from the Galehead side...I guess hiking mid-week is a good way to avoid the crowds.
