Cooper had a great time. Pretty easy trail for dogs. Happy to meet 3 others at the summit. There were almost more dogs than people on the trail today. |

Nice trail, much easier than I thought based on other trail reports. Starts as a easy walk along a stream (good for cleaning muddy paws on the way out). Gets steeper about half way, but all the switch backs (many) make the ascent more gradual, nothing super steep. Views at the summit were great and towards the south. Some stretches down low were pretty muddy, and basically standing water, but it was easy to maneuver around these sections. Many leaves on the trail provide a buffer between your shoes and the mud underneath. Very little ice on the trail today; spikes took a ride for the third day in a row. It seems that the actual mileage is greater than posted (5.6 miles); got just under 7 on GPS (must be the switch backs). |
