Comments
Comments: Entire trail up & down was covered with a light trace of snow. Very slick in the first .5 mile or so with lots of fallen leaves covered in a dusting. Lots of slick/hidden ice as well. I put spikes on roughly .6 miles in and didn't take them off until I got back down. Ascending at times were difficult even with the spikes. Above treeline, there were dry spots so be prepared for varying conditions while wearing traction. Descending they made a huge difference. Trail conditions may change in the next few days with some sunnier days ahead but today was a great reminder that spikes should be brought on just about any hike from here on out.
