Nice out and back hike to Zealand and the Bonds. Minimal depth snow on the entire trail. Some black ice which couldn't be seen because of the dusting of snow so be careful. Leaving from the Zealand parking lot, I made it to Zeacliff without any traction. Then I wore my microspikes until about halfway down Mount Bond. The ridge across to Bondcliff had enough bare rock for stable footing so I took my traction off. Returned over the same route but getting the West Bond and Zealand spurs on the return. Winds were minimal today, pretty ideal day for November. Had Bondcliff ridge to myself. |
