One good sized (~8-12" dia) spruce tree 7 or more feet above ground diagonally slanted above trail between Starr King and Waumbek. Not a problem today. May or may not be a problem with a snow pack. Small spruce tree across the Kilkenny Ridge Trail just before the blow down viewpoint. Easy to step over.

Comments
Comments: The trails were mostly covered with a thin layer of snow (~ 1/8 to 1/4" depth). The snow was melting off the trail down low in the afternoon. Some running water on the trail in the south facing hardwood forest from the trailhead to the traverse. One can pass through much of the water/mud areas on rocks. Often, the mud was frozen so it was easy to walk upon. Some mud areas in the hardwood forest were wetter especially in the afternoon. Even so, the mud was never boot sucking. This trail has no steep ledge sections.
The spring (signed) was running.
Gray Jays put in appearances at Mt Starr King and the Mt Waumbek blow down viewpoint.
Views weren't perfect today due to clouds lingering on parts of the Presidential Range. Nevertheless, Mt Madison, the northern ravines, and the Southern Presidential Range were visible.
Heard lots of gunshots on descent as I approached the trailhead. No sign of any hunters close by the trail. I was wearing some orange just in case.
Met hikers from Hebron NH, Durham NH, Sanford ME, and Denmark ME.
