There are three (IIRC) blowdowns on the High Ridge Trail, but are easy step-overs. They will need an axe or winch to get the trunks off the trail. The middle one, just above the Turtleback trail junction at the pond, wasn't so easy to step over until I removed the broken branches. Elsewhere, I removed a few branches, but I had expected to see more tree-pruning from the recent storms. Overall, the trails taken were in very good shape. |

Very nice day for a cool fall hike up through the woods. I didn't see anyone else the whole hike, which seemed surprising. The route I took up is a fast way to Shaw. It took me just 2:05 for the trip up, and the whole hike took just under four hours. |
