Trails: Signal Ridge Trail, Carrigain Notch Trail, herd path
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, November 3, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: 1 car when I departed 6:30AM and a second car when I returned at 10:30AM. Not sure the first car was a day hiker.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Streams running about 6-12" deep, depending on where you step. Not possible to cross without getting wet feet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails well-maintained, with a few well-seasoned blowdowns here and there.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The talus slope up top would probably be challenging for some pups though the rocks are mostly settled along the route straight up and connecting the 2 sides of the herd path. Otherwise I don't think there would be too many challenges for a willing pup.
Bugs
Bugs: None, at long last.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None.

Comments
Comments: Great way to spend the day!

The herd path to Vose Spur was pretty well defined and someone (or multiple someones) had festooned a few branches with surveyor's tape to show the way - not entirely necessary but reassuring for some, I imagine.
