Becca and I started out early by meeting at the ski area and leaving one of our cars there and we drove the pot-hole Tripoli road up and over the height of the land to the Mt. Tecumseh Trailhead. One car pulled in as we were headed up the trail. It was raining on the drive up but it had neaerly stopped and it was just misty on and off. We decided to add a little extra to our hike by bushwhacking to NW Tecumseh thru open woods by not taking a straight line but staying a bit north, followed old moose herd paths most of the way, hobble bush was no bother since the leaves had fallen off and it wasn't thick. Only about a quarter mile to reach the little summit cairn on the wooded recognized summit. We returned the same way. The wind was really kicking and the clouds swirling no view damp day. On the descent the mountain blocked the wind and the air was still. We met a few people hiking up. A good morning's effort. |
