Fabulous bluebird day on the trails, views were endlessly fantastic. One of the snow making guns was fired up this AM (yah); Coop had fun in the pile of snow at the end of the hike. Patches of ice / black ice throughout (easily avoided on the ski trails); Care was taken between the peaks. Bog bridges were particularly slippery. As expected, some unavoidable semi-frozen mud (and some not so frozen), mostly between the summits.
It was great to met Kyle just as we started up the ski trail; he joined us all the way to Wildcat A. It was such a pleasure to have a companion to chat with, although I probably slowed his pace a bit. He continued on to the Carters and we (Coop and I) returned back the way we came. Nice chatting with 2 other women on the trail, one at 46 & 47 over 70. Only saw 4 hikers today. Crews out prepping the lifts and slopes, all friendly. |
