Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: One of my favorite lots in the Whites! The big Livermore lot with the nice outhouse. Lot was nearly full midmorning.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: One bridged, another tiny
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Great signs; Thanks, WVAIA. There are a few blowdowns on the Kettle Trail, no big deal.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Good for dogs. Please remember, there are many XC ski trails owned by Waterville Valley that are groomed for paying skiers. While I don't know the rules about whether they can go then, I do know the etiquette about hikers using ski trails - so please be informed and careful.
Bugs
Bugs: A black ant enjoyed the sunny perch which is the Scaur with us.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A tennis ball on the side of Livermore and a fake finger nail (not kidding!). While I did pick up some micro-trash (tiny bits of things, like the edges of energy bar wrappers people didn't know they dropped), I let the ball; and the nail be.

Comments
Comments: Excellent choice for a cool sunny past peak day. Still some color here and there, especially ascending the last several hundred yeas to the Scaur. Called it the "Golden Road" yellow leaves and sun are beautiful! While it was a cold walk through the shady areas, the Scaur itself has a windbreak and the ledges had been soaking up the sun all morning, producing a nice little microclimate. Great views of Waterville Valley and Tecumseh.
