Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Only car at Meader trailhead at 6:30 and 11:30. Baldface lot was overflowing at 11-looked like there was likely a conga line headed up south Baldface
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy rock hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Upper sign for Bicknell Ridge is missing. There’s a cairn with a wood post but no sign. Top half of birch is obstructing trail next to water crossing on Eagle Cascade Link. About a 5 minute handsaw cleanup
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great hike for dogs no scrambles really and decent water. Fin was feeling frisky so I led her in a few loud howling sessions from Bicknell Ridge to liven things up a bit. Fin is a real tough old bitch who keeps surprising me with her stamina and energy

Comments
Comments: Evans Notch is the best-so scenic and quiet. Huge views everywhere on these trails today. Saw 4 friendly hikers and 1 friendly dog all day. Meader Ridge is really mellow for 2.5 miles then straight up via switchbacks which get increasingly steeper until you level out near the summit. Basin Rim is a delightful ridge walk as is Meader Ridge. Views of S. Baldface from Bicknell are amazing! Lots of steep slab which is super grippy when dry like today but I wouldn’t mess with this trail if really wet. The down/up on Eagle Cascade Link was brutal but the falls were pretty cool-looked like the worlds most dangerous water slide-would love to see it with more water. Emerald Pool is a really cool little spot. Leach Link was a nice woods walk. Even the road walk on 113 was great at the end of the day. Hit 80% on the old redline-finally feels like I’m getting somewhere!!!
