Not too many of those out this way. All drainages were dry or a slight trickle. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The steeps on Davis Path up to the ridge continue to suffer from heavy erosion which is compromising rock steps. The bog bridge right at the start of the trail continues to decay and will eventually break under someone's weight. Also lots of erosion between Stairs Col and the spur trail, mainly in the short switchbacks. The ledge scramble is tricky (descending) in part due to this. |

 | Comments: |
I got an early 7:30 start and was the only one in the lot. Up to the junction with the spur to Crawford was dry. After that things became wetter with several stretches of significant mud/water along the ridge between the spur and Mt. Parker Trail. No mud to speak of heading up to Stairs from the col, but there was some wet ledge.
Descending, light rain showers began shortly after leaving Stairs, making for slippery ledge in places. The rain broke by the time I got back to Crawford so I picked my way up there carefully. Showers continued all the way down and a steady downpour began in earnest about a half mile from the car.
Cool autumn weather today. The sun did pop out while I was on Stairs but in general it remained gray and overcast which dulled the views. Foliage color is now mostly brown with some brighter pockets here and there. |
