Trails were damp today, as there wasn't much sunlight to dry things out (and the days are getting shorter). Some minor mud in the usual places and plenty of slippery rock.
If using the ski trails, heed caution, as there are multiple active construction areas with heavy equipment. A lot of the steep portions of trails have been mowed/weedwhacked, however many are not fully mowed (tractor working its way around the less steep areas, so one can in theory descend on mowed only to dead end around the corner in a wall of tall grass/weeds).
Foliage is just about peak in Waterville Valley. Really nice colors.
