| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
leafpeepers are choking the lots and the road. good luck |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
A couple of crossings that are quite doable. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
this trail needs some TLC in my opinion. most of the log/wood "bridges" are actually under the mud that they are supposed to carry you over.
if you go over to Elephant's Head the same holds true. about 40% of the log bridges have been recovered by nature and the nails are just sticking up. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
didn't see any but the trail would be pup friendly. |
|
| Bugs: |
there were some around but Deet not needed |

| Comments: |
I hadn't done this peak prior, it was a trail that I figure is better/more enjoyable when more dry. it was wet and I was actually concerned about my safety on the way down.
the view is incredible and worth the hike. a couple of gray jays looking for handouts but I disappointed them.
the waterfalls that seem to be the upper upper section of the Silver Cascade are very nice, worth hiking the 1.4 miles just for them. |
