 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
A sign at the bottom of Hurricane Mountain Road suggested the parking lot/trailhead could be closed on weekdays after September 1, but it was open late this afternoon (and almost full). The adjacent area has been logged; perhaps the lot will be expanded at some point? |

|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of trail creep on Black Cap Trail. Noted a lot of recent work on both trails, including cribbing and footbed improvements. Cranmore Trail has been relo'ed not too far from the communications tower; adds a slight bit of distance, but is probably more sustainable. |

 | Comments: |
Trails were generally dry with the exception of some avoidable mud down low and a few avoidable wet ledges higher up.
Though there is still plenty of green foliage around, the upper elevations of Black Cap are very close to peak. Very nice colors from the summit of Cranmore.
Nice late afternoon weather with late summer-like temperatures.
Support liberty. |
