Comments
Comments: Time for something completely different. Rode our mountain bikes almost all the way to lower Greeley Pond. Dumped our bikes and our boats and went for a bushwhack up to K2 cliff. After looking at a 1928 White Mt. Guide and seeing paths up to the cliffs we decided to see if we could do it. We whacked for an hour and got to elevation 3000 feet but thinking we were still south of the most open parts of the cliffy area. We did find a scree field mostliy grown in and some good slide openings. With threatening rain and drizzle we decided we should not push our luck, I said attempt because we really wanted to go higher on the rocks but we did a good job getting up there. We found a better line for our return just a bit north of what we went up and it was more open in the woods. Once down we blew up our pack rafts and paddled around lower Greeley Pond and then took our boats out at the north end and hiked up to Upper Greely and paddled around. Lower Greeley is shallow but has big big views. Upper Greeley much deeper and smaller. On our return paddle it started to rain hard. Bike ride back was cold and wet.
