Trail in great shape. There were several muddy spots between the two summits |

Great afternoon for this hike. The Autumn chill was definitely in the air which made for a very pleasant ascent. it was great speaking with a fellow Wanderer and company as well as the backpacker and their beautiful Akita. Still lots of green in the forest but some colors are appearing. On the descent from Starr King i saw a very dapper male Spruce grouse and a hen which made my afternoon.
