Gravel lot can hold up to a dozen vehicles. There were 6 at 10:00am and 8 at 4:30pm. Entrance from route 2 has a couple big dips and humps. |

All 3 crossings of the Rattle River were easy. |

Several large blow downs around 1200, 1800, 1900, 2000 & 3300 feet.
Broken bog bridge planks at intersection of AT/KT and at ~3620'. |

| Comments: |
Sections of deep, wet mud along the KT. Some bog bridges are nearly submerged. Excellent scenery and color from the vegetation in the col between Middle Moriah and Shelburne Moriah. Nice stone steps really helped with the steep descent. Saw 3 hikers on the trail and 3 more ready to leave the shelter. The shelter was empty on my return. |
