Amazing day to hike Middle Sister and Chocorua. Views were endless and winds were moderate above treeline. It was also not crowded. We had both summits to ourselves. The trails were pretty wet up high from recent rain, which made things pretty slick in spots, especially ledges below treeline. We decided to descend the main summit via Liberty and Westside Trails, for something different. That "bad weather" route has less exposure, but adds about 100 feet of elevation gain. We also did the falls loop. The falls were impressive due to the recent rain. |
