UNH-Downes Brook lot nearly full at 2 PM. |

Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Whole bunch on Downes Brook Trail - hoppable in low water. Can't imagine in high water. A few on Passaconaway Slide Trail too. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Sign states maintenance on abandoned Passaconaway Slide Trail can result in fines and/or imprisonment. Rollins Trail has half a dozen stepover blowdowns. Downes Brook has a bunch of stepover blowdowns. Removed a few vexing ones on Downes Brook. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Passaconaway Slide Trail not a good idea for dogs not familiar/comfortable with slides, scrambles, and wet slabs. No water between Diceys Mill spring and close to the Downes Brook-Sleeper junction. |
| Bugs: |
Some mosquitoes on Downes Brook Trail. Otherwise, minimal. |

| Comments: |
Downes Brook Trail was generally dry and in good shape top to bottom. Lost count of how many water crossings it had!
Abandoned Passaconaway Slide Trail was a lot of fun. I would not attempt it in wet or icy conditions (some slippery rock and slabs even today in an extended dry spell), or without a comfortable ability in trail finding, bushwhacking, and quasi-technical terrain. Nice views on the lower portion, as well as the top of it. Found a few small, but good patches of blueberries near the bottom and top of it.
Diceys Mill to Rollins to Kate Sleeper were all in good shape. |
