After the Hancocks this morning I headed over to do Owls Head in the afternoon for #42 for August. Having done this a few times I think this back to back actually makes a lot of sense. It's got some milage but combined elvation is not too bad, and it's only a 15 min drive between THs.
Black pond BW is an easy to follow heard path. Brutus is also very easy to follow, though there are a few deviating paths where it begins to ascend the steep slope.
More than a few people out this afternoon, enjoyed meeting and talking with some friendly hikers of all experience levels. |
