Plenty of parking; four cars in the lot when I started, 10 when I departed in the afternoon. Note that Sawyer River Rd was gated when I arrived (presumably because of Hurricane Henri), but was reopened as I was preparing to start. |

 | Comments: |
A relatively quiet day on Carrigain, with only 15 other hikers on the trail and 10 cars in the parking lot. The recent rains may have discouraged many, but the stream crossing and the mud were not a problem at all. Low clouds hung over the mountains, obscuring the higher summit, so views were not great. But the weather was otherwise good and there were no bugs, so a great day in the mountains. |
