Comments
Comments: Hiked up to the shelter on Saturday and the trail below is in good shape but now its gonna be nice and muddy everywhere. Decently muddy and brushy climb thru a car wash up to the headwall where the sun came out for awhile until we reached Lakes of the Clouds Hut. Got sucked into chatting with someone I know who is on the hut croo and it kinda turned during our break. As we went around Monroe, the visibility went from cloudy to thick soupy ground fog with a nice 20-30mph breeze outta Oaks Gulf which completely fogged up my glasses and made it very nice to drop down below treeline on the Eisenhower Tr. This trail and Dry River Cutoff are pretty easy to follow and in nice shape. As the cutoff gets up towards the jct with the Clinton Tr it meanders into the blowdown mess from the Halloween 2017 storm which made for a fun climb up to Mitzpah Hut. It then kindly rained on up all the way down to the car
