Peaks North Tripyramid, Middle Tripyramid, NH
Trails
Trails: Pine Bend Brook Trail, Sabbaday Brook Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, August 21, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: about 5 cars at 7:30 start and 1PM end at Pine Brook; mostly along road on south side of Kanc. Sabbaday falls lot almost full. Based on the huge number of cars in the other parking lots passed on the way home, this is not a very popular hike.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Pine bend Brook trail step overs. Lower sections of Sabbaday Falls were more challenging. Stepped on a slippery rock and one foot went completely in water, plus had to put a hand in as well side of leg)/ Not an issue since it was near the end, and it was so hot that it actually felt pretty good..
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: step overs that were no problems
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of streams to drink from on the lower sections of both trails. At higher elevations there is much less water, make sure to carry some for your pups. Coop had a great time, and only balked at one of the water crossings on Sabbaday Falls trail before crossing. Met 2 other hiker dogs, and one leashed at the lower section of Sabbaday.

Comments
Comments: Trails in great shape, but everything was slightly damp making the conditions a little slippery. Roots are the worst, slid on several. Muddy sections on both trails where mostly avoidable, but there were a few spots that were more difficult to pass. Conditions may change dramatically if we get a lot of rain due to the hurricane.

Didn't see many people out on these trails; couple people were hiking the loop (up north and down south slides); couple doing the Pine Brook / Sabbaday Falls loop; most out and back om either trail. Nice chatting with Scott from the Albany area.
