| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Once you get there the trailhead is awesome. New signs, kiosk, and a toilet. Nice job. Parking for about 8 cars. The last 3 miles(Tower Rd) from Magalloway Rd is interesting. Took me about 30 minutes to come in. Lots of jutting rocks with some crevices. Take your time or you will be sorry.Magalloway Rd is a piece of cake. As good as Nash Stream Rd. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Coot Tr is like a new road in a forest housing development. It almost looks like someone went up there with a bulldozer. Lots of rock and mud but pretty steep for the short length that it is. Blowdown area on Bobcat Tr has been cleared. Thanks to whoever did that. |

The best part of this hike was I met Ken MacGray on the way in. Super nice guy. Thanks for writing the "52 with a View" book. Book has helped me out immensely. The hike is pretty straight forward. Up the steep soil and rocky Coot Tr.down the typical forest trail that is the Bobcat Tr. Bobcat trail after the blowdown section has a few steep spots with some wet rocks and mud. Watch your foot placement there. The views from the tower are amazing. This was my 3rd North Country peak in 3 weeks and did not disappoint. Did not do the Overlook due to time restraints. 50 minutes up, 30 minutes down. Took me less time to come down from the summit than it took to do Tower Rd. Overall a good hike with some great views. |
