Beautiful day to be hiking. Weather was really nice and trail is in good shape. I had this trail on my to-do list for a long time because I wanted a less crowded approach to Lafayette and it was great. I encountered only one couple on the ascent and about six groups on the descent.
A few observations. I didn't hear many songbirds at all. It was eerily quiet once the trail left the streamside. I wonder if they've started migration already.
I saw some peregrine falcons that were pestering a raven. All these birds were effortlessly soaring in the updraft off the summit. Was really beautiful to watch.
