Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Pinkham, plenty of room and no tweakers lurking about looking to cut off cats.

Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Great Gulf is a continuous water crossing or so it seemed. Trail runners not the best shoe on that trail. But given the very hot and humid day I didn't really mind the water and found some nice springs here and there to replenish my rapidly dwindling supply.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Huntington could use some paint-touching up in the upper portion...a bit hard to follow in places. The Great Gulf is not so great on the descent with all the loose rocks and slope. Very slow going. I only chose this route to pick away at the T-25 list.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Not one dog today.
Bugs
Bugs: Pretty bad in places along Great Gulf...just had to keep moving.

Comments
Comments: Long day but at the end of the hike there was a cooler full of drinks for AT hikers...I grabbed a Bud Light and surprisingly enjoyed it. Thanks to whoever stocked that cooler (it was near the Crew Hut so I'm guessing it was that glorious crew!). I passed 5 hikers on the Great Gulf and about that many on Madison Gulf who were through hikers.
