No issues with the brook crossings. |

I recall a few blowdowns. Significant erosion in areas. White Mtn. Trail Collective was on lower Garfield Trail yesterday cleaning water bars and installing step stones around a wet section. |

Going by this morning's forecast (I know, I know), the goal was to get some long overdue clear views for C, which have thus far eluded her in the previous three visits. Sure enough, the summit ended up being in and out of the clouds, with only peeks over the Pemi when breaks appeared. Maybe next time!
Both of these trails were fairly wet with slippery rocks. I took a tumble near the junction with the old Garfield Pond Cut-Off which resulted in a bruised knee and sizable arm scrape/cut, which we were able to dress on the spot.
Aside from that, it was a fairly easy and quick up and down (although this is a long walk!). Lots of people headed up as we were descending. Looks like they may have gotten more sun up top than we did. |
