 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Iron Mt. Road is a class 6 road that is decently graded and there is a home made gateway that isn't locked but warns not to park along the narrow road. There is a parking area near the trailhead for about 6 cars and there is an overflow lot not far back down the road. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is rough and washing out but aren't most of the trails in the Whites like this now. Pay attention how you got to the south ledges because the trail is not well marked. Since it was wet the ledges down to the mines were slippery. |

 | Comments: |
Clouds and misty rain spoiled our views but it was a pretty forest with lots of mushrooms. Fire tower ruins always fun to look at and a trip to the pit mine and into one of the caves (we went inside and there were lots of spiders) made for more excitement. The steep climb up and over the summit down to the south ledges and then on the return you have to climb Iron Mt. again makes this just under 4 mile hike a good workout. I am taking the gals back there on a sunny day someday. |
