Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: no problem-os.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: saw one. not much water unless you don't mind them drinking in mosquito larva.
Bugs
Bugs: OM*G! WTH, was I thinking going over to Ptuckaway today?!!! The mosquitos are horrendous. I doped at the car and twice more on trail. I wasn't really going to go up to the summit of South, but I needed a break from those f*ckers and there was just enough of a breeze and open space to get a respite.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: there is a really nice looking newish Oboz boot on the gate at the North Mtn trailhead. sucks to have lost a single boot.

Comments
Comments: well, after my successful 10miles the other day, I decided to test my physicality again. moved faster. tried running and 7 miles later wasn't dead. there is a car ending washout on Tower Rd, that I think is going to get fixed this week. After descending from South and jogging down the road, I heard some loud voices and drew up short at some orange cones on one side of the washout. 3 teenage boys were on the other side. The water was flowing pretty fast thru the sandy soil and one of them said, "I don't want to get wet today." They were spry and tall enough to leap it. (one of them did several times), but no leaping for me. I looked left. I looked right. Turning back was not an option, so I plunged into the pond/swamp. The mud was deeper than the water, but at least there were 3 teenagers on standby to pull me from the quicksand. it wasn't so bad and I continued on my merry way.
yeah, so at the junction of Tower Rd/Res. Rd. there was a gentleman from DOT unloading a backhoe. I'm guessing it's on someone's docket to fix the washout. but, with that being said, we're about 1 hurricane away from Tower Rd to washing away. High water on both sides for the majority of the route.
