Water Crossing Notes: All crossable with no issue.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Isolation Trail had some substantial blow downs throughout.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: There were our own two dogs in our group and we also passed a dog. The only issue we had with the dogs is when they frolicked off trail and stirred up a wasps/hornets nest which resulted in several stings to one of the dogs, two stings to my friend Jeff and a few stings to the nose to the other dog. We got the dogs to run and then we ran ourselves to get away from the attack.
Bugs
Bugs: Moths were the only annoyance in the evening while hiking by headlight.

Three times the charm on this one. Russ and I have made two other attempts that failed due to soft melting snow and high water crossings.

The Rocky Branch should be renamed the Rocky Brook! It was definitely wet and muddy on the upper portion to the shelter. It was a long day, but worth it to be out there. The trails were often hugged by tall wet grass, but it gave a real remote and wild feel to the area. The only thing that surprised me were the amount of people we passed on the trail. It was definitely not ISOLATED! We must have passed close to two dozen people!

Once on the Davis Path watch for the turn off to the summit. There isn't an obvious sign at the junction anymore. There is a sign, but it points to Mt. Davis. Lucky for us we had David Lynch who was familiar with the trip and pointed the lack of signage out to us. We made the right up the spur and reveled in our summit!
