 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We got insanely lucky and nabbed the closest spot to the trailhead (like our front bumper was at the trailhead) thanks to someone pulling out when we got there at 9:45. Otherwise it was the usual mob scene with cars parked a half mile down the road in either direction. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are mostly in great shape, though the upper two-thirds of Valley Way is WET and very slick in spots. Not sure there’s a whole lot that could be done about though. The rangers at the trailhead warned us NOT to take Watson Path (which we had considered doing). Due to the slick conditions on many of the trails, the rangers said there had been several rescues this week, many of which were experienced hikers. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one dog (and one cat!) all day. But if you know these trails you’ll know why. The rocks can be really tough for dogs that aren’t used to it. |
|
 | Bugs: |
There’s some kind of weird wasp’s nest or something right at the summit of Adams. They’re long, red wasps. If you sit a few feet away from the trail marker on the peak, they generally leave you alone. Otherwise, the bugs were mostly non-existent (except the moths attracted to our headlamps on the way down). |

Gorgeous day to be on the trail. The weather was absolutely perfect. Stopped by Madison Hut for some soup and nourishment between peaks which is always a welcome break. See note above about Valley Way, Watson Path, and general trail conditions.
