Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Large lot. Only a few cars when we arrived around 8:30am. No fees.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There were a few water crossings, but very easy. It was nice to have these brooks/streams on such a humid day so we could soak our bandanas and cool off.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are 2 significant blow downs. The kind where you can’t go over or under, but have to leave the trail to get around. They were so significant it appeared you had run into a dead end. They completely covered the trail. Both were during our descent. The first on Lawrence trail, about 2/10 of a mile from Old Mast Road. The 2nd was on Old Mast, maybe 1/2 mile after leaving Lawrence Trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs seen. Too hot for them today, although it would have been a nice trail to bring your dog if a lot less humid and cooler.
Bugs
Bugs: There were a few mosquitoes buzzing around, but we put on bug repellent and that seemed to work. Not enough bugs to ruin our hike
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None, except my husband lost my light blue bandana heading out. So guess there is a lost now.

Comments
Comments: With the exception of the 2 blow downs mentioned above, the trails were in excellent condition. Mostly dry, but some wet, muddy spots here and there. Really nice day, well, except for the humidity which did drain us.
