Comments
Comments: The trail was well packed prior to the Bald Peak junction - it was that hard/icy type surface where light traction is needed. There was a large AMC group before me who basically broke out the trail to Kinsman Ridge and to both summits. Thanks to them all I used was MicroSpikes the whole way. The spur path to Bald Peak has been barebooted only - if only doing Bald Peak, bareboots may be enough. Above Bald Peak, the snow did deepen. Three guys came up Lonesome Lake side but that side does not appear to be broken out as good as Mt. Kinsman Trail. With the AMC group there is an excellent snowshoe track between the peaks.
