| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot was pretty crowded by 10AM. I parked on Jefferson Notch Road. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
None |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No major blowdowns. Cairns along the ridge are in good shape. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
A few good boys. Someone took a tsi tzu up - he was carrying the dog up near the summit. I'm not a dog owner, but I have heard others say that bouldery trails like Caps Ridge are tough on their paws. Think twice if you want fido to come along. |
|
| Bugs: |
Plenty of black flies under the tree line; bug spray deterred them well enough. |

| Comments: |
A beautiful day. Trail is in good shape. A cool 2.5 miles each way. On the easier side if you are experienced, but there are a few tough scrambles and lots of unforgiving terrain, so this is not a beginner-level hike. |
