A fine day in the forest for sure! Mt. Kinsman Trail is in amazing shape due to a lot of love from the maintainer. Kinsman Ridge is also in fine shape. We started early to beat the rain, only to get a good soaking on the way in. The canopy very much helped our cause of staying dry. The good stuff started about 10 and got progressively heavier on our way out. Despite the calendar saying July 3, today was a hypothermia kind of day. Thankfully we carry our ten essentials, and then some. Commanding views of the inside of a cloud type day, lots of lovely slick slab. Also thanks to Rhockin' Rhonda for eating the majority of the cobwebs, and she got to practice her ninja skills while running into them. I never trail run, but the heavy, steady rain on the way out changed that. I felt like Forrest Gump "I went run-ninggggg." A few familiar faces out today including a fellow aspiring gridiot. |
