| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking on the edge of the road nearer the lodge. Maybe a dozen cars and vans total by noon when we returned. |

Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Bridged and rock hop-able |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails need to be brushed. Snapper and Carriage Road need to be brushed because in many places the trees are making the trail very narrow. Even upper Gorge Brook Trail there were tight places. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Gorge Brook Trail should be renamed Dog Walkers Lane. Gosh so many dogs today |
| Bugs: |
a few gotta keep moving to escape |

Started sometime after 8 am and headed up via Snapper Trail. All the ski trails are growing in so tight, not good. Sadly it is easy to see that the DOC didn't do much trail work last year, big blow downs have been removed but you'd be hard pressed to find a functioning water bar anyhere we went today. And hey why is the sign after the first water crossing after the lodge a brown and yellow ugly thingy? What happened to the proud and loud Orange and black sassys signs the DOC is famous for? where are they?? Please bring them back.
We met 8 thru hikers that were slack packing over Moose that were staying at the hostel below, Nobos doing this piece south. They were hustling and looking forward to a rainy day in Lincoln tomorrow. A little cool and windy on top, no views for us but an hour later things cleared up. We passed by at least 20 kids and their trip leaders headed up Gorge Brook. We also passed by at least 10 dogs with their people too. A good day before the rains. |
