Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Left a bike chained to the trailhead kiosk at Oliverian Brook Trail, so I could ride it back to the car at the end of the day (about 3 miles). This is a fairly sizable dirt lot and only 2 cars were there at 7:30am. We were the second car to arrive at Pine Bend Brook Trail this morning, but many showed up just after us around 7:45am. Parking for Pine Bend Brook Trail is along the road.

Water Crossing Notes: All easy to rock hop
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One fresh, major blowdown is blocking the entire trail on Passaconaway Cutoff. Many limbs, and the leaves are still green. There’s also one tree leaning across the trail on Dicey’s Mill Trail heading up to Passaconaway - you can duck under it, but if you’re tall, be careful! I think there may have been a few other blowdowns along this route, but I’m drawing a blank as to where they were.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw a few dogs today, and they were on the Mount Whiteface viewpoint.
Bugs
Bugs: Not really that bad. Mosquitos mostly came out late in the day as we were finishing on Oliverian Brook Trail. Did find a tick on one of our backpacks, but that might be because we placed it on the ground in a small patch of grass at the Oliverian Brook Trailhead.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a pink Mount Gay Rum sailing hat on Pine Bend Brook Trail. Left it hanging on the sign at the Pine Bend Brook trailhead at the end of the day.

Comments
Comments: Great day out there hiking 4 4000-footers and getting 2 for the NHHH. This route is long (nearly 18 miles). Took us about 11 hours and 15 mins with breaks from trailhead to trailhead. Saw a surprising amount of people on the Tripyramids today. Only a couple of folks on the Whiteface viewpoint area today and about half a dozen people on the trail to/from the Passaconaway summit. Once we left the summit of Passaconaway, we didn’t see anyone for the rest of the day.

All summits were socked in low clouds, so not many views from the viewpoints today. Trails were mostly dry with a few slippery rocks here and there. Some patches of mud, but overall nothing noteworthy. Oliverian Brook Trail was an easy, flat hike out.
