Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Israel River & Cascade Brook require a bit of strategy and care, but water levels are not that high and everything is definitely rock-hoppable
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns on Israel Ridge Path. The sign for Randolph Path at the upper RP/IRP junction is missing. The sign for the Emerald Trail at the IRP/Emerald junction is badly damaged.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: None today.
Bugs
Bugs: Various bugs from around 3500 to treeline, but nothing too bad. They cut our stay at Emerald Bluff a bit short, but weren't a problem when moving.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day on Jefferson. We saw one person between the Bowman trailhead and the Gulfside Trail. The trails are very dry with almost no mud whatsoever at this point. Descending the Castellated Ridge is a real bruiser until you get to the junction with The Link!
